An idea I had for a superterrorist organization in the mold of HYDRA.
As the name might imply, Dammerung ("Twilight" in German) is a powerful, highly equipped organization of terrorists bent on world conquest, with a theme centered around Norse/Germanic mythology. Significant members would have names derived from notable figures in those myths. Examples:
All-Father, the leader. His lieutenants, Donnar and Tyr. High ranking agents like Loki and Fenris. And maybe an female squad of genetically enhanced, heavily equipped warriors, the Valkyries.
And they could have their own flying frontline headquarters, Jormundgand, the World Serpent.

When you say 'superterrorist' you mean that Dämmerung, as an organization, is super powerful or that its members have super powers?

A mixture of both, actually. Dammerung is akin to groups like HYDRA or COBRA in that it is a terrorist organization with access to a significant arsenal of weaponry and technology, has bases across the world, and has a significant well-armed fighting force, and is enough of a threat that if it achieved its goals it could theoretically take over the world or at least a major superpower country.
And its elite agents do indeed possess superpowers, or at least are skilled/armed enough to be threatening to most individuals they encounter.

I actually like the idea! SInce i have a few characters based off of Norse Mythology, maybe they can be part of the team?

Its not a team, its an entire, vast terrorist organization and network. But sure, you can contribute. Just be aware that this organization merely uses Norse myth as a theme. In no way shape or form are the characters actually related to any of the myths or characters in those myths, beyond theme naming.
Basically what I'm saying is, if your character is one of the actual figures from Norse myth, and not just someone who thought it'd be cool to use that name, then that won't fly. Thats not what this whole shindig is about.

Danke.
No, I don't believe we do. Then again, so far the only real big bads I've got so far are Dammerung and Doctor Crypt.
That said, I do have an idea for a kind of evil superteam. Stay tuned for details.

Eh, maybe for a more strict anti-Guardians core team, sure. But not for a big, world conquering team of villains made of really big guns.

No. Anyway, I have an idea for my own world conquering group of world class supervillains, while we can have a more Injustice Gang style group separate from that consisting of individual villains, one for each member of the Guardians core team, i.e., one for Thunderhead, one for Omegaman, one for Empress, so on and so forth. The other team will be composed of unrelated but horrifically powerful and haughty villains, called The Dominion. Stay tuned for a post on them.

New here, but I like this group. Kinda a Norse mythology fan myself, so I always like seeing references. And what I've seen so far kinda gives them a very 'epic' feel, which is always good when plotting giant villain organizations. Basically, a super-brawl with these guys would be like a mythic war. Which is just kinda awesome.

Also, quick thought: What if this organization's Loki played all the angles? The mythic Loki was not exactly loyal to the other gods, and from a non-mythological standpoint maybe Loki is head of intelligence for the organization (and therefore better able to trick others). That way, he knows what's going on and has a backup plan in case the heroes DO show up?
Just a thought.

Thats more-or-less what I was thinking with him. A kind of assassin-leader/head of intelligence type, a spy to contrast off of Donar's soldier.
Though I should correct you on Loki in mythology. The mythic Loki did cause trouble for his fellow gods, but that was it. He ball-busted them and all that, but he was never truly disloyal or villainous toward them.

Aye, true. His children, on the other hand, were kinda fated to kill several gods come Ragnarok. And boy did he have a lot of weird kids...

That actually gives me another idea for an angle on him: Loki as mad scientist.
